ONE BILLION FOR ROADS MUST DELIVER - MINISTER

The Minister of Water and Environment and MP Kapchorwa Municipality Hon Sam M Cheptoris has tasked the District and Municipal Engineers to produce quality work worth the one Billion for roads.

The engineers from the two administrative units have promised the minister & his team to work together for quality services in roads.

The District Engineer has a plan for 21 kms and Municipal is 13.1 kms. According to Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), Municipal costing rates are high per kilometer because of the width to cater for traffic compared to district roads.

In this FY 2023/24, NRM government is giving each District, Municipality and City Divisions one billion Shs for roads maintenance.

The meeting was held this morning at the DHO boardroom.
It was attended by the WMP Hon. Phylis Chemutai , Hon. Twalla Fadil MP Tingey, the RDC, the LCV Chairperson, the Mayor Municipal, the CAO, the Municipal Clerk, and the two engineers.
